Johnny was a stranger and he had a crazy dream

No government and no politics
No religion and no war

Johnny had a revelation
He dealt himself a lifelong plan

From the cradle to the grave

We met out on long island
“Tween the Devil and the Deep Blue sea
I was just a travelling man

He and I’d go out drinking nights in downtown city bars

As we travelled on the subway cars

On the church steps after midnight

We’re the nuclear generation , we’re all veterans of cold war
